June 7th, Colert Beach at Lake Minnewasta in Morden MB
We had 118 racers total participate in the second annual Tinker Creek Cycle Back 40 mountain bike race. The 80K category had 25 riders testing themselves against the rolling trails and flowing single track. It was great to hear the "Great course!" from accomplished marathon racer Don Sissons, EVERY time he came through the lapping zone. Ron Kaulins showed his fitness and climbing skills to win the 80k race. Local Tinker Creek Cycle riders Jeffery Elias and Alf Enns took full advantage of knowing the trails and took the top two places in the 43 racer, two lap men's race. We also had 12 women out racing, some experienced, some first timers, but all seemed to have fun.
