First, some news about the Wednesday night session with Sprint quarter finals, where Travis Smith advanced to semis and Joe Veloce lost, to come back and contest the 5 to 8 final where he finished 7th overall.
In the same session Daniele de Franchesi and Mark McDonald finished in 6th place in the Madison.
Also on Wednesday night, Canada’s Tara Whitten won a gold medal in the women’s omnium and Monique Sullivan finished 4th in the sprints barely missing a medal.

Thursday was final day for women’s Keirin where Monique Sullivan finished 6th in the 1 to 6 final.
In men’s omnium Mark McDonald took 7th place and in the women’s Points race Tara Whitten won bronze with a 3rd place finish
In the Men's Sprint Travis Smith advanced to gold medal final where he took a silver medal loosing to a Columbian in two heats.
Finally, overall Canada finished 3rd behind Columbia and Cuba for the highest number of medals won ,which is their best performance in a very long time with 8 medals altogether.
