Coming up:

The 15th edition of the Club Mountain Bike Championship is happening, Sunday, at the new Beatton River Cactus course.

Defending Champion and 4 time winner Pat Ferris will be up against the 2007 National Mountain Bike Champion Sven Svenson and 2002 champ Trevor McDonell.

The new challenging and difficult course will be tough and fun for all the riders. The route features many switchback climbs, small and large drops, twisting turns, off camber tight ox-bow bends and a long, downhill. A slip and fall might have you sitting on a cactus or an anthill so riders will have to be at their best. Spectators get a front row seat for most of the action. Race time is 10:00 am.

Also: Floyd and Barb Polehoykie are in Penticton for the Ironman Triathlon. This event is a 2.5 mile open water swim, 112 mile bike and a 26.2 mile run, all in the hot Okanagan sun with 2500 competitors from 20 countries.
