Posted by Editoress on 10/15/09

The Revolution Championship at the Manchester Velodrome will see future stars, sprinters and endurance riders racing as part of a team. Young talent will get the chance to join heroes such as Chris Hoy and Mark Cavendish as both Future Stars and elite riders accumulate team points across championship races at each event.

Canada will be a guest team during the Revolution event on Saturday night, January 16th, 2010, and will be inviting three Junior men, three Junior women, plus the possibility of three Elite Endurance riders and one Sprinter for this self-funded project. Sunday, January 17th will be a coach-led training session for the Juniors.

Athletes interested in the opportunity are asked to meet the following time standards by Monday, November 30th. To receive an official result it must be electronically timed with drop bars and rear disc only.

Junior Men: Flying 2 km time trial - (first 500m at 32.2, then 2:23.0 for the full 2 km)

Junior Women: Flying 2 km time trial – (first 500m at 35.5, then 2:38.5 for the full 2 km)

The Forest City Velodrome will be offering opportunities to any athlete interested in attempting to meet the standards on November 28th at the CanAmQue Challenge, and during the day on November 29th. Log onto the following link for more information:
