It's halfway through November which means many of you are already starting to think about the upcoming race season. The Pacific Cycling Centre (PCC) has some exciting new events coming up that may help you prepare for the 2010 season whether you are a racer, coach, shop owner, or team manager:

Free Seminar Series
Part of the mission of the PCC as the former PacificSport Cycling Centre is to continue promoting athlete development in Canada. Houshang Amiri is one of a handful of coaches in Canada qualified to teach and certify level 3 coaches. Houshang is offering to share his knowledge with athletes of all levels through a series of free seminars in Western Canada and Washington. These seminars will be happening over the next few months. Some of the subjects he will cover are:

• Training with power
• Training with a heart rate monitor
• Effective interval training
• Planning a season
• Off season training
• Get more out of your riding
• Testing and evaluation

If you are interested in attending one of these seminars or even hosting one please contact the PCC at admin@pacificcyclingcentre.ca. Right now, the PCC is looking for local clubs, shops, and teams interested in hosting these events. The dates, venues, and topics of the seminars will be posted on their website at www.pacificcyclingcentre.ca/news/events.html. Check back regularly to find out when and where the next seminar will be. They are open to any athlete or member of the cycling community who would like to attend and learn more about how to effectively plan their training.
