The aim of the Cycling BC High Performance Team is to support the efforts of dedicated athletes in British Columbia to gain the discipline, knowledge and skills to achieve success on the national stage.
Cycling BC’s High Performance Team was launched in 2007 to develop and support riders from youth to elite. The Team is lead by Richard Wooles, Director of High Performance for Cycling BC. Under Richards’ leadership, this focused, structured approach to training and competition has yielded impressive results in Road, Track, Mountain and BMX cycling. This approach is now being expanded to include Cyclocross in 2010.
Jay Loder has been appointed by Cycling BC’s High Performance Team to lead the development of the Cyclocross discipline. The proven program of athlete development used by other High Performance disciples will be applied to the program. The focus of the Cyclocross High Performance program will be to support the development of both male and female junior and U23 athletes. The Cyclocross High Performance program will use the same methodology that has proven successful in other High Performance disciplines including coaching, development camps, fitness testing, equipment and nutritional programs.
How can you help?
The Cyclocross program is seeking coaches to lead the development of the athletes in the program. If you have an interest in providing coaching support to the Program, please contact Jay Loder -firstname.lastname@example.org or Richard Wooles - email@example.com
The Program seeks young athletes who are interested in being part of the program. Successful Cyclocross riders come from varied backgrounds – riders from Road, Mountain Bike, BMX, even triathlon have been successful in the Cyclocross discipline. Cyclocross also provides complimentary skills for these other disciplines. If you are a
Rider or are aware of riders who may be interested in Cycling BC’s High Performance Cyclocross Program, please contact either Jay Loder or Richard Wooles.
The success of Cycling BC’s High Performance Team is dependant on many supporters. Support may come in many ways; feel free to contact the High Performance Program with any ideas you may have to support the Program.
With support from businesses and individuals we can provide the resources necessary to develop young athletes into world class champions. Support can be given in different ways - cash contributions and goods and services contributions are all welcome.
