March 30/10 10:08 am - Tour de France Announces Teams for 2010 Race

ASO, the organizer of the Tour de France has announced the final selection of 22 teams invited to this year's Tour.  Under their agreement with the UCI, the 16 ProTour teams receive an automatic invite (down from 18 with the loss of Gerolsteiner and Credit Agricole), leaving six spots for wildcard invites.  Four of the squads are American - HTC-Columbia, Garmin-Transitions, Team RadioShack, BMC Racing Team - a record.  Three of the teams have Canadians on them - Garmin-Transitions, Team Sky, Cervelo Test Team.
