24 Hours of Adrenalin Results

Chad Grenier at Trilife has gotten some results to us. He apologizes for the delay, but says that the webserver with the results has been down for the past day (which is why you can not get results from the Trilife site either).

The Story:

Hardwood Hills was the host of Canada's Largest mountain biking event and the biggest 24 hour event in the world this past weekend with 2,600 riders and 7000 campers and spectators gathered for the Woodstock of Mountain Biking. People began arriving Friday afternoon and did not leave until Sunday afternoon. The camping areas dawned RVs, multi-coloured tents, coloured wigs and costumes and while most people came in a group of 5-10, some groups brought as many as a 100 riders and friends.

Rain fell on upon the participants and support crews Friday evening for several hours however it did not dampen the spirits of the athletes on hand to have a weekend of fun, excitement and of course great mountain biking. The lengthened course (22kms) was more challenging and exciting as ever. People always rave "the course is so much fun, lots of singletrack, technical sections, but not too difficult."

"People have caught Adrenalin fever. Today active people are looking for events that are challenging, fun, team and active lifestyle oriented," said Stuart Dorland, President and Founder of Trilife Sports International, event organizers. The Kokanee 24 Hours of Adrenalin is just that; people getting together with friends to enjoy a weekend full of memories that will last a lifetime.

While 99% of participants ride in teams (4, 5 person open age, 5 person all female and 6-10 person corporate category) 25 endurance athletes from all over North America gathered to test their limits by riding the event by themselves in the solo category. These athletes are the heroes of the event and provide motivation for everyone on the course. No matter the struggles one faces the solo riders are experiencing the same challenges ten fold. First timers Jason Vincze and Heather Johnston walked away with top honours.

Special thanks to all the participants, sponsors, volunteers who helped this year be a success from Trilife Sports International. For more event coverage log on to Live Webcast at www.24hoursofadrenalin.com and CanadianAdventure.com.
