Posted by Editor on 06/2/10

The third edition of UCI Nations Cup-Ville de Saguenay (Quebec, Canada) is about to get underway tomorrow. It is the sixth of seven races part the UCI Nations Cup for the world's best male riders aged 19 to 22 years old. It is the only event of this series to be held outside Europe and will run this year from June 3rd to 6th.

Almost 80 riders representing 18 countries will start the four day stage race tomorrow. Most notably, the cyclists will face difficult circuits that include short steep climbs on three of those stages and that will surely split the field.

Amongst the favourites on the highly talented start list are the defending champion Johan Lebon of France, Colombia's Darwin Atapuma, Danish climber Ricky Jorgensen and American Benjamin King. As well, local Canadian rider David Boily will be on the hunt for a strong GC results after a very good showing at the Tour of California. Canada has two teams of the 13 entered.

Stage 1 - June 3rd, 140.7 km over a 20.1 km circuit in Jonquière
Stage 2 - June 4th, 148.4 km over a 21.2 km circuit in La Baie
Stage 3 - June 5th, 141 km over a 14.1 km circuit race in Kenogami
Stage 4 - June 6th, 128.4 km over a 10.7 km in Chicoutimi
