June 25/10 20:24 pm - BC Bike Race is Ready to Roll

Posted by Editoress on 06/25/10

BC Bike Race - 'The Ultimate Singletrack Experience’ will begin its 4th year tomorrow in North Vancouver with a Tour de France style Prologue and a press conference.

The Prologue of 2.1km should be an interesting jaunt with some North Shore flavor and will give a glimpse of what could possibly unfold over the next 7 days. The field of 500 participants from 21 countries is studded with talented and dedicated riders, each and every one humming with anticipation.

Following the Prologue will be a short press conference during which the fastest man and fastest woman of the day will be announced. The press conference, hosted by Dave Howells, will be an informal look into the minds of the top competitors.

BC Bike Race sold out this year and has steadily been moving into a category of its own in the epic stage race world. This year's unveiling of the shorter Challenge category garnered some very serious attention as the possibility to engage in such an adventure is now accessible to a broader range of people.

In 2010 BC Bike Race signed some new Sponsors and celebrated a continued great relationship with others: Harbour Air, BC Ferries, Ryders Eyewear and Dakine returned; Shimano re-signed at a higher level of involvement; and Rocky Mountain Bikes, Red Bull and Kaz Law all came on brand new this year. Welcome aboard, the ride is about to begin!

Buckle your seat belts for the next 8 days of excitement: BC Bike Race will be posting Videos, Press Releases and Results on the fly as they tour the best singletrack in BC.
