Report from Italy


Last weekend's two events went a little bit worse than I had expected, as it seems I'm still a bit wrecked from last week's crash. On Saturday, after 140km racing, including a 30km and a 8km climb, I ended up 12th, of 160 starters at the 39th edition of Figline-Valdarno. On Sunday, we went to Bologna and the Tropheo Pizzoli hoping for a home-turf win, but it seemed everyone was watching us to keep the group together, and that responsibility weighed heavily on my SC REDA teammates, who have begun to weaken after a season of hard racing. I stayed in the lead group until the end, but attack after counterattack in the closing kilometers took it's toll, and I didn't contest the final sprint. I finished about 15th.
