Keven Lacombe (Spidertech - Planet Energy) placed 6th in the 6th annual Schaal Sels, a UCI 1.1 race of 160 km in Antwerp, Belgium on August 29th.

The winner,  in a sprint, was Aidis Kruopis (Palmans-Cras) with 80 riders also finishing in the same time.

"The race was quite difficult because in addition to a paved section, there was a stiff cross wind," said Lacombe, who was helped to the finish by his teammates Guillaume Boivin, Simon Lambert-Lemay, David Boily and Francois Parisien . "We were five in the first group and we wanted to be as far up as possible for the sprint. All the guys did a great job. "

Lacombe would obviously have preferred to be the first to cross the finish line, but is not too disappointed with the race. "The important thing is that all the guys on the team that started the race felt good. A few weeks before racing the Pro Tour to be held in Quebec, it looks good. "

Back at home Monday

Team Spidertech - Planet Energy will be back in Québec on Monday, where they will complete their preparation for the two Pro Tour races that take place September 10th and 12th, respectively, in Quebec City and Montreal. In the meantime, some of the team members will be at the start of the Quebec Championship which will take place at Sainte-Agathe, the 4th to 6th of September.
