It is just under a week away from one of BC's most sought after cycling events: the Provincial Cyclo-cross Championships! This coming Sunday, November 28th, at Mahon Park in beautiful North Vancouver, the province's best cyclo-cross athletes will gather to challenge for the prestigious honour of being Provincial Champion.Craig Ritchey

The 2.6 km course map is now posted on the official race website: www.bccyclocrosschamps.blogspot.com. There has been a lot of time and energy spent over the past two weeks getting Mahon Park up to speed for the race, and even after this past weekend's attempt to slow them down with snow, organizers have pressed on and got the course dialled in. Come rain or shine or even snow, the race will go on! The course is relatively flat, very fast and will require just the right amount of technique and fitness.

Not to be outdone, and as sign of just how strong the cyclo-cross passion is in British Columbia, Vancouver Island's Cross on the Rock series has recently wrapped up and, as a testament to all of those racers, for the BC Provincial Championships, organizers will be honouring ALL Cross on the Rock (COTR) overall series point getters with prime call up positions for their respective categories. The Provincial Championships start positions for each category will be based on the following criteria:

Top 5 BC Cup overall points

Top 5 COTR overall points

Next 5 BC Cup overall points

Next 5 COTR overall points

And so on...

There are over $4000 in prizes to give away from Rocky Mountain Bicycles, Cycles Lambert, Maxxis, Lezyne, GORE Bike Wear, GORE Ride On, Planet Foods, Honey Stinger, Kicking Horse Coffee, Ultima, Different Bikes, Pedros and much more... All racers are reminded that they will automatically be entered into a draw to win a 2010 Rocky Mountain Solo CXR frame/fork just for participating in the event!

Racers are also reminded to PRE REGISTER for event via Cycling BC's website and save $5.00: www.cyclingbc.net/OnLine-CX-Registrations. Pre registration is $25.00 or $30.00 day-of.
