The position of Youth Development Coach is responsible for the identification and development of high school age athletes. Specifically, the position is responsible for conducting outreach to middle and high schools in British Columbia's secondary education system.

Job Responsibilities
The Youth Development Coach is a key youth development position within the Cycling BC Performance System in British Columbia. This position is responsible for identifying athletes who have a high probability of successfully representing BC in provincial, national and international competition, including the Canada Games, National and World Championships, Olympic and Paralympics Games.

The primary responsibility of this position is to deliver introductory programs in a high school setting; as part of the regularly scheduled physical education curriculum or after school program. Consequentially, the role will require the successful candidate to develop an effective working relationship with school district representatives, teachers, cycling clubs and trade teams. Specifically, the training and coaching of high performance athletes needs to be coordinates between all levels of development (Club, Provincial, and National) in a cohesive and effective manner so as to maximize the performance of the athletes.

Due to the varied nature of the job description, extensive work will be required. For more details, please review the Youth Development Coach Job Description.
