Brampton Cycling Club

Sorry for the confusion everyone. Our ISP for the Brampton Cycling Club (Aracnet) has changed their domain name to www.arvotek.net on very short notice. Our website is now located at www.arvotek.net/~bcc/index.html. Hopefully, in the near future, we will be able to register our own domain name and not be at the mercy of our ISP. If anyone has some cheap registration/hosting advice, please let me know.

Don't forget the AGM on Thursday, Oct. 28 at 6:30 pm. I goofed it on the webpage. This meeting will be held at Peel Police Training Bureau, 2 County Court Blvd, Brampton (Hwy 10 / Steeles area). You can get all the details from our web page or hotline (905) 455-8975.

Thanks,

Allan Keefe

Schwinn to be Exclusive Sponsor for Hardwood Hills BMX track
courtest Chris Burke

Veltec Canada is pleased to announce that Schwinn will be the exclusive bike sponsor of the new BMX facility being built at Hardwood Hills, just north of Barrie Ontario. Sponsorship includes a potential fleet of rental BMX bikes to offer those who may not own one a chance to try out the fastest growing part of the North American bicycle market. As well, Veltec/Schwinn will work to promote both the Hardwood Hills track and BMX to the local and Canadian bicycle markets.

Currently under construction, the "super fast" BMX track at Hardwood Hills will run on a downward sloping terrace, making the course easier to ride for the inexperienced BMX racer. For the experienced BMX rider, the course will be high-speed and demanding - making it a popular destination for novice and veteran riders alike.

Veltec is currently adding some extra punch to their Schwinn BMX program - exemplified by the recent sponsorship of the Sportsnet/OLN Canadian coverage of the Gravity Games. Already partnered with Hardwood Hills for their mountain bike rental program, Veltec hopes the family appeal BMX holds will catch the attention of an even wider range of riders and bring them to the Hardwood Hills riding facility.

The track is expected to be complete in the spring of 2000. Visit the Hardwood Hills web site for updates: www.hardwoodhills.on.ca
