And Now For Something Completely Different...

It is cold and rainy (at least around us), getting dark earlier and earlier, and we finally have to face the fact that summer is over. So, we thought it was time for something to bring a smile to your face: Here is a website that has absolutely nothing to do with cycling.

Alley Cat Scramble

More information (but not a schedule) for this courier event can be found at the following web address: www.hideousewhitenoise.com/alleycat1.html#.

Eat Your Wheaties

Rob Naish has solved the Wheaties mystery!

"Yes that is all true, Doug Smith (US amateur Road champion 1986) was the first bike racer on the cover of the Wheaties box. He appeared on 10 million boxes in 1988. The rest of the Wheaties Schwinn team was on the back. But he was not the first person to appear on the box riding a bike. Olympic Pole Vaulter Bob Richards was on the box riding a ten speed in 1969."

Rob also sent a Photo of the box! Rob, you win the 'Pro Cycling Geek' of the Day Award.
