Cycle Canada, The Veloforce Corporation is a Canadian company that has been conducting cycling tours throughout Canada since 1988, are looking for a mature independent individual who will assist with our 2011 schedule of one week cycling events in Ontario and Quebec.

Tour Support - One week Tours (1 position) - 10 weeks, commencing June 24. Will be required to attend a training session prior to that date.

Successful candidate will be required to provide report(s) on their driving and insurance record and three references.
Open to Canadian citizens or residents with valid work visas. There is lifting and other physical effort involved. Knowledge of a second language, particularly French, is helpful. Knowledge of cycling and bike mechanics is an asset. Room and a food allowance is provided while tour(s) are underway.

Job Description:
Providing logistical support on our one week tours, in Ontario and Quebec. Duties begin with an outfitting of the support vehicle in the Toronto area. Employee will drive the vehicle to the start of the event(s), then drive ahead to each night-time stop during a predetermined riding schedule for the tour. At the end of the tour(s) the employee will return the vehicle and other equipment to Head Office and/or Toronto. Employee is responsible for the general security of the vehicle and company equipment. Additional duties include purchasing provisions for the group, inventory management, maintaining a detailed accounting ledger. Communicating and reporting to head office on an ongoing basis.

Required skills and experience:
• Previous experience in a supervisory role in an outdoor activity.
• Class G (or equivalent for other provinces) driver's licence; strong interpersonal skills.
• Excellent navigation skills
• Experience driving a cube van or similar large vehicle.
• May involve minor food preparation and purchase skills, training or experience in food handling an asset.
• Courses in health and safety such as CPR are an asset.
• Basic bike mechanic skills will be considered an asset.
