World Cup #9, Houffalize, Belgium  Report from Phil Reinaers (European rep for the Alison Sydor Fan Club)  Good news for all Alison's fans: she has taken the second place of the Grundig World Cup race in Houffalize. She has made a wonderful and strong race; after a good start she was fourth and one by one she has overtaken Chantal Daucourt and the Spanish Silvia Rovira to finish just behind the unbeatable Paola Pezzo.  Ranking of the Houffalize women race: 1. Paola Pezzo 2. Alison Sydor 3. Silvia Rovira 4. Chantal Daucourt 5. Laurence Leboucher 6. Ruthie Matthes 7. Lesley Tomlinson   Up to now I have already meet Alison three time since Friday: Friday she was a little bit anxious; she is in a bit of pain with her injured shoulder (From Vail crash) and she hadn't taken part at a mountain bike race since a long time so she didn't know how she will be in race . There was also the fact that Chantal Daucourt (who looks very strong) would been able to take the second place of Alison in the ranking of the Grundig World Cup.   But today after the race, she was very happy (even a little bit euphoric) of her race (she had been well supported by all her fans - she passed more than a half hour to sign autographes and stand with all her fans for photos).   So I think that she will be motivated at 100% for the two last races of the season.
