Dorion renouvelle avec Ford de Vinci

Deux-Montagnes-(DIAPO)- Pour une deuxième année de suite, Mélanie Dorion portera les couleurs de l'équipe de vélo de montagne Ford-De Vinci en 2000. Vingtième au classement final de la Coupe du monde de vélo de montagne en 1999, Dorion avait vécu une vive déception en terminant au 45e rang au championnat du monde, en Suède.

D'un commun accord avec les dirigeants de Ford-De Vinci, la cycliste de Deux-Montagnes diminuera son nombre de courses en 2000. " La saison dernière, j'ai pris part à 73 courses, d'expliquer Dorion. En 2000, l'objectif premier sera de me qualifier pour les Jeux olympiques. Je vais donc m'épargner quelques voyages en Europe en me concentrant sur la série Norba (circuit Nord-américain) et sur les épreuves de la Coupe du monde présentées en Amérique du Nord. Je demeurerai basée en Arizona cet hiver, et j'aurai plus souvent l'occasion de m'entraîner à Bromont au cours de l'été. "

Dorion prendra également part à quelques épreuves sur route au sein de l'équipe élita.
