Request for Feedback

Hi all....I am a local planning consultant who is compiling the first stages of a management plan for the newly established West Arm Provincial Park adjacent to Nelson, B.C. I am compiling any information regarding planning issues that you may have about this area. Since this is a valued backcountry ski, mountain bike, and climbing area for us Kootenay folk, I would certainly appreciate your thoughts and experiences about this beautiful area. I need the info before mid-March. Hope to hear from you. Please e-mail me at mhorton@hotmail.com.

Cyclists Only Hockey Game

Calling all cyclists of any discipline and of any era to join us for a two hour game in Picton, Ontario on January the 20th. John "on your inside" Large has thrown down a challenge to his ole pal Tim "you don't deserve a cut today" Lefebvre to meet in Picton for a showdown.

Largey Pargey has assembled quite a crew - Craig Burge, Neil Crawford, Bill Hurley, Peter Meteuzals, Paul Spadicinni, Don Hodgson, Werner Visser, Mike Hurst, Trevor Thomas and the list goes on. Lefebvre has a few skaters (most with no hands) - Steve Bauer, Dan Lefebvre, Rob Velland, Rick Froner, Craig Deveer, Don Zuck, Bruno Grossi and Buck Miller. Lefebvre still needs help with his team and those so interested can e-mail him at timlef@iaw.com.

The game is for around noon with a lunch to follow. Take the day off and let's have some fun!

Tatonka Team Disbands
(courtesy M. Prefontaine)

The Tatonka pro Mountain Bike Team, which has been based out of Alberta for the past 9 seasons has disbanded their club. Long time sponsor River Valley Cycle out of Edmonton decided they could not afford the pro end of it, which in turn led to long-time General Manager Bill Dostaler leaving River Valley Cycle. Tatonka is gone but Bill is opening the Frozen Ocean Tribe, which will encompass not only mountain biking, but other sports as well. Anyone interested in more info on this can contact Bill Dostaler in Calgary at Frozen Ocean Surf shop (403 228-9669)
