Report From Europe
Chrissy Redden, Canada's sole entry in the Cyclo-cross Worlds has sent us a letter from Europe, as she prepares for next weekend's race.
Well, I'm in Paris, France awaiting the first ever women's world championships for cycle cross. I am sure everyone back home has cycle cross far from their minds, so here I am reminding everyone to cheer for your favorite racers!! This year the worlds are in the south of Holland in the small village of Sint-Michielsgestel. Back in September the mtn bike national team spent a week in this area for mtn world's preparation, the area is quite flat, but the world's cross will be very difficult. The weather so far has been quite mild (for those in Ontario, anyway) at about 6-7 degrees. It rained today over most of northern Europe. The technical director for the cdn cross team is Christian Pezard. Most of the national team women have dealt with him at some point in time. He has opened his home up to me until we travel to Holland on Thursday. Tomorrow Christian and I will race locally. The women normally race only 20min so I will race with the junior men. The main thing will be to dial in my new custom built Lemond cross bikes, outfitted with full Shimano and Rolf racing wheels. I also need to get used to the new flashy red and yellow colours of Gary Fisher/Saab. Quite different from the red, white and blue of Ritchey Yahoo! that I'm used to.
Chow for now, Chrissy Redden

Happy Birthday To...
As was noted in the Forums, today was downhiller Eric Cseff's birthday. We have missed him in the past, because Eric's team never provides his birthdate on UCI forms! However, he is in our database now. Also, to fellow downhiller Chantal Boulianne
