August 30/11 12:14 pm - Canada to Field Strong Team Relay Squad

Posted by Editoress on 08/30/11

Canada is making a serious effort to win the Team Relay tomorrow, with both Elite national champions participating.  Canada will have Catharine Pendrel (Elite Woman), Max Plaxton (Elite Man), Evan McNeely (Under 23 Man) and Alexandre Vialle (Junior Man) on the start line.  Canada is tied with Spain and Switzerland for the most Team Relay titles at three.  Switzerland, the defending champions racing on their home turf, are expected to be the biggest threat.  The Team Relay begins at 5:00 pm local time - 11:00 am Eastern/8:00 am Pacific.  Canadian Cyclist will provide live updates, beginning with the Junior Women's Cross-country at 3:00 pm local - 9:00 am Eastern/6:00 am Pacific.
