The Trek Red Truck Racing Team is pleased to announce that it has finalized its roster for the 2012 season. The team will continue to focus on being dominant presence in Pacific Northwest, particularly BC Super Week, the National Championships, and selected NRC races in the US.

New additions to the men’s roster for 2012 include Dustin Andrews, Colter Young, Brad Clifford and Adam DeVos, who was second in the BC Provincial ITT. On the women’s side, the team is please to bring on veteran and sprinting powerhouse Sarah Stewart of the former Total Restoration Team.

The team is looking forward to building on the success of the 2011 season from both the men’s and the woman’s teams; highlights included multiple podiums at BC Superweek, including Karlee Gendron winning the GC at the Tour De Delta, Shoshauna Laxson sprinting for the win at the inaugural UBC Criterium, and Julia Garnet taking the win at the Giro De Burnaby alongside team mate Bailey McKnight, who took second place in the men’s race.

More 2011 highlights included Senior Team member Adam Thuss winning the criterium, hill climb, and overall omnium at the Tour de Bowness in Calgary, placing ninth at US Univest Grand Prix in Pennsylvania, and capping off the season with an exciting second place finish at the Whistler Gran Fondo. Junior National Crit silver medalist Craig Logan also posted some impressive results during his first year as an espoir, placing 19th at US NRC Cherry Blossom Classic in Oregon early this spring, and winning the Gran Fondo Rockies held in Nanton, Alberta, alongside teammate Bailey McKnight who took fourth.

The Trek Red Truck development program has served as a stepping stone for many of Canada’s top cyclist, including Olympian and World Championship silver medalist Svein Tuft, National Road Champ Cam Evans, as well as Nic Hamilton of Jelly Belly Pro cycling, to name a few. This year, former Trek Red Truck women’s team members Annie Ewart and Karlee Gendron will make the transition into the pro ranks.

The Team is also looking forward to its annual team camp, taking place in early April in Santa Rosa, California. Thank you to sponsors Monique and Chris Wilberg of Barney and Oscar Films for their generous support for this annual event.

Scholarship
One of the core values of the Trek Red Truck Racing Team is supporting its riders to reach their full potential as athletes while concurrently pursuing their academic endeavours. In 2011, Trek Red Trek launched a scholarship as a means to raise funds for eligible athletes on the team to use towards funding their post-secondary education. This is an exciting opportunity for sponsors, spectators, and philanthropists to participate in the development of the talented riders on the Trek Red Truck Racing Team; management looks forward to expanding the scholarship for the 2012 season. Mountain Bike Team
The Trek Red Truck presented by Mosaic Homes Cycling Team is pleased to announce that they will be entering the Mountain Bike arena, a logical step for the team which is based out of one of the biggest mountain bike destinations in North America. Look for the following racers to be sporting TRT jerseys at regional races in the Lower Mainland and around the Pacific Northwest, including the BC and Canada Cup series.

Anna Schappert (Winnipeg, MB):
Anna is the reigning MTB and Road Champion at the 2011 Western Canada Summer Games and is a strong contender in the U23 women's category. She is currently studying in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Manitoba.

Quinn Moberg (Squamish, BC):
Quinn is a high school student who is excited to race in his second and final year as a Junior. A member of Team BC, and consistently finishing on the podium Provincially and Nationally, he has big goals for the upcoming year, not only on the bike but also academically.
