Headquarters for this prestigious event on a hill which has become something of a local legend, is Grafton Park, Dundas, where there is lots of free parking. The city has agreed to open the washroom facilities at 8 AM which, coincidentally, is the time when registration will open. Entry fee is $12 which includes the association levy. New riders may purchase a 1 day licence for an additional $10 First rider off will be 9.01 AM and competitors will be seeded to keep the faster ones apart. The course is 1.85 kilometers long, with the steepest part being between .75 km and 1.0 km. The last .2 km is a false flat. Awards will be presented at the bandstand in the park immediately after the event. In the afternoon, there will be a 15 kilometer individual time trial on a new, fast course starting on Brant Regional road #8 (White Swan Road) 1.1 km south of the junction with Highway 2/53. It's about 15 minutes by car from the hillclimb. First rider will depart at 1.31 PM. A number of the top time triallists are intending to use this event as a tune-up for the "Personal Best" finals in Ottawa the following week. Entry is free to all who ride the hill climb in the morning and $5 for others. For further information on these events, contact organizer, Kit McCaffery: tel. (905) 271-8300, fax.
