Chris Redden has just telephoned in with results of the women's Prologue Time Trial for the mountain bike race. He says it is very exciting - "all the new teams are here, with new trucks, new jersey, etc. It is actually difficult to pick out who some of the riders are. There is always something going on, with the cross-country, downhill, road race.... It is really quite an incredible event."

The conditions are excellent, lots of sun. One interesting point: Alison Sydor is riding a hardtail bike with the Cannondale Lefty (single strut) suspension fork.
