We are back in our offices now for a few weeks after the L.A. (Interbike) and Canadian trade shows, so information show flow to Daily News in a more timely fashion. We have a number of Classifieds to post, so check back tomorrow for a bunch of bikes for sale. Also coming up, are the Mountain Bike World Championships in Switzerland. Below is a missive from Bob Archer of PowerKick, concerning the weather on site. In other World‚s news, we have just heard from one of our reports, Hank Sydor, that it appears that Italian World Cup winner Paola Pezzo will NOT compete in the world‚s. Since she is far and away Alison Sydor‚s most serious competition, this sets the stage for Alison to take an unprecedented 4th World title (Henrik Djernis of Denmark won 3). For all Canadians sitting at home biting their fingernails: Don't think you're the only one biting your finger nails. I've got a downhiller in the family that's digging for precious metal in the Juniors. He's half Canadian and half Swiss so I'll remain unbiased and say Good Luck to all those tough MTB/Downhillers on both sides of the Atlantic. Yes, it has cleared up and it looks like it's going to be a great week as far as the weather is concerned. Sunday 14-Sept-97 The day was dry and sunny as forecasted. The ground had a chance to dry out a bit after the rain on Saturday. The night was clear and cool (I'd say cold) with easterly winds. Monday 15-Sept-97 The day began with clear skies. A little bit of that good old 'Indian summer'. They call it 'Old women summer' here. Lots of sun but temperatures are only expected to reach 15 to 20 C. Tuesday 16-Sept-97 The same as Monday but temperatures between 19 and 24 C. Wednesday 17-Sept-97 The same as Tuesday Thursday 18-Sept-97 A little bit cooler but still very sunny. Friday,Saturday 19+20 Sept-97 As far as the eye can see still good. Will report shortly before the weekend Bye for now Regards Bob Archer PowerKicK!
