June 23/12 11:31 am - Mont Ste Anne World Cup: Elite Women UPDATES

Posted by Editoress on 06/23/12

After three days of intense heat, a thunderstorm moved through Mont-Ste-Anne last night and heavy rain has drenche the course.

The woods are now very treacherous so the organizers have decided to change the early part of the course adding the long traditional gravel climb and omitting some of the woods at the beginning this allows the field to spread out before entering the new singletrack section.

The women will do a start loop and 4 full laps.

This is a rather small field, as many of the Europeans, especially the Olympic bound riders, are opting to not come to the N. American World Cups.  only 41 entries, lead by World/CDN Champ, Catharine Pendrel (Luna Pro Team).  Also Emily Batty (Subaru - Trek), Marie-Helene Premont (Rocky Mountain), Amanda Sin (SCOTT-3RoxRacing), Sandra Walter (Xprezo-Borsao), Jean Ann Berkenpas (Xprezo-Borsao), Mikaela Kofman (SCOTT-3RoxRacing), Cindy Montambault (CVM 2 VALS), Caroline Villeneuve, Mandy Dreyer
