Speedskater To Take Up Cycling?

Speedskater Susan Auch, a two time Olympic silver medallist, has announced that she is going to try and make the Canadian cycling team for Sydney. She will try for a 500 metre Time Trial slot. Canada has two spots for this event, and has two riders currently qualified - Lori Ann Muenzer and Tanya Dubnicoff. The first hurdle for Auch will be to actually meet the standard - Twice 36.80 (indoor or altitude) / 37.10 (Calgary) / 37.50 (outdoor). Then she will have to beat out either Muenzer or Dubnicoff. Auch will compete at the US EDS Cup series event in Dallas, Texas at the end of April.
