Emile Jean (EKOÏ.com/Gaspesien) from Trois-Rivieres won his first victory in Elite at St-Basile road race on Sunday August 20th. After only six kilometres of the 133 kilometre race, Jean escaped the pack with three other riders to form the winning break. William Blackburn from Team Medique, Jean Michel Lachance and Rémi Pelletier Roy (Team Garneau) were other riders that joined him.  With about 45 kilometres to go, Pelletier tried to escape the break but this attempt proved costly. Once caught, Jean placed an attack that nobody could follow. This solo victory happened at his first season in this category! William Blackburn took the second place in front of Charly Vives (Garneau).
