The Burnaby Velodrome Club has secured another weekday evening. For ten Monday's, starting Sept 24th, through Dec 10th there will be track hours from 8-11 PM. The first session on Sept 24th was an open ride session with following sessions to include a structured coached workout from 8-9 PM. As teh season progesses other special events may occupy portions of this time slot. Stay tuned to the website for all details.

Wednesday night structured training sessions will continue with a coached session, with a few changes. This year these sessions will be free to attend  for members or a drop in guests. The time slot will run from 6:30 until 7:30 and will be exclusive to that workout. If you are on the track at that time you are doing the workout provided. From 7:30-8:30 will be structured open training followed by new riders until close at 10 PM.

The Youth program continues to grow and flourish and will continue in the same format as previously run with some slight changes. BVC Coach Jeremy Storie will run the Wednesday sessions from 4-5:30 for the more experienced Youth and Junior riders with assistance from Mike Rothengatter. Mike will handle the Monday sessions from 4-6 PM for the new youth riders. The Try Three for Free policy is still in effect. Anyone under 19 can come out and try the velodrome during the Monday session with a coach provided along with a rental bike for free three times. If they wish to continue then a membership or punch pass or drop in fee must be obtained. rental for youth under 19are always free.

Previous Learn to Ride classes 1,2, and 3 have now been condensed and renamed Intro to Track . These take place primarily on Saturday evenings (see schedule) and require an additional 3 monitored sessions to be completed. This is done with a single booking unlike the older 3 part system. Intro to Racing will be very similar in nature to previously named Learn to Race and will be offered throughout the season to coincide with Friday Night racing and weekend races.

Please note: Completion of Intro to Track is a pre-requisite for Intro to Racing which is mandatory for Friday Night racing at Burnaby. Exceptions can be granted with an application made to Program Director, Jeremy Storie. Please see website  for more detail on fees and sign up.

Friday night races under the dome will commence October 5th and run for 10 weeks then a second half will start up in the early part of January 2013 and continue for another 10 weeks. Racing will start at 6:30 with Novice and Women then at 7 it will be the C,B, and A categories.

Please see website  for schedule and fees. Gear restrictions apply Novice and C's 84 inch, B's 86 inch.

The race will feature a mix of sprint and endurance events with a schedule tentatively set for Friday night 7-10 PM, Saturday 2-10 PM and Sunday 9 AM until 3 PM. There will be categories for youth, women, novice, C,B, and A groups.
