November 29/12 12:11 pm - Employment Opportunity - PowerWatts Cycling Coach

Posted by Editoress on 11/29/12

PowerWatts is a young dynamic company seeking cycling coaches to work from one of the four PowerWatts centers in Montreal, Toronto and Calgary. Candidates would benefit from a previous coaching or racing background in the sport of cycling (road or track), triathlon or mountain biking. It is beneficial to have some academic experience or working knowledge in the areas of coaching, exercise physiology, biomechanics, kinesiology, nutrition and psychology. Candidates must be excellent communicators, energetic and feel comfortable in a bilingual group-training environment.

Potential PowerWatts coaches must also be able to use our training software to help motivate and educate cyclists in concepts of training and cycling performance. Candidates should possess strong leadership skills that make them comfortable and effective with many different training levels. An understanding of computers and operating systems is important to be able to effectively administer a class in a multi-tasking environment. Basic bicycle mechanical skills are also an asset. Candidates should have current certification in CPR/AED or be prepared to undergo this certification. All potential PowerWatts coaches are required to take an 8 hour theory course with a minimum of a 20 hour apprentice period.
