December 24/12 8:06 am - Cycling BC Board Announces Deficit and Cutbacks

Cycling BC has incurred a substantial loss as a result of the 2012 UCI BMX Supercross World Cup event which has placed significant financial pressure on the Society.  The new board of directors has been working on a financial plan for 2013 so that delivery of all core services such as insurance, events, development, and high performance programs continue without disruption.  All possible methods of resolving the financial situation are being explored.

As the first step in this plan we have been forced to make the difficult decision to reduce the number of staff at Cycling BC.  We ask that the privacy of staff please be respected in these matters.  The board of directors is looking forward to the challenge of resolving all outstanding issues.  We believe that with the ongoing support of our members participating in club activities and events, Cycling BC will continue to grow.  We will provide updates on this situation over the coming weeks.
