With less than 30 days to go before the first Youth Cup Race in London, the Organisers of the Tourism London Youth Grand Prix and the Tourism London Challenge have released the Technical Manual for the races.

The 2 races are scheduled for Sunday August 18th at the Sovereign Rd and Admiral Criterium course in North East London. This circuit is closed to traffic and will provide for a full day of exciting bicycle racing.

The Tourism London Youth race will be super fast as the 1.25km Individual Time Trial will start at 9am. The distance will mean riders will have to sprint at their limits to post the quickest time. The Time Trial will be raced counter clockwise to enable the scoring of all racers to be completed in an efficient manor.

Immediately following the Time Trials, the Youth Road Races will begin at 11am for the Youth Categories. The endurance road races will range in length from 20 minutes for the youngest competitors to 45 minutes for the 16 year old category. The race organisers expect speeds in the Road Race to exceed 45kph at times as the racers do battle on the 1.35km Circuit. There is no elevation change (flat course) and will provide for some very exciting and thrilling racing.

The last race of the day is the Tourism London Challenge. This 75 minute affair will test the nerves of all competitors. Several of Ontario's Elite racing teams have already expressed interest in the event. Over $800.00 is on offer at the time of this press release, with primes (special sprint laps) the prize list could go over $1,500.00. There is a field limit of 150 racers so if you want to race, the organisers suggest you register early for this event.
