Cycling Canada is reporting that the women's tandem team of Robbi Weldon and Emilie Roy were hit by a car during a training ride and are in hospital with multiple fractures.  The incident happening in Matane, Quebec, prior to the Para World Cup final, scheduled to begin tomorrow.  Cycling Canada reports that they are still under observation and further evaluations at the hospital.

Tricyclist Dominique Mainguy is also forced to withdraw after a crash in a training ride, an incident that did not involve a secondary party.

"We wish our three athletes a speedy recovery. They all will be greatly missed on the roads of Matane for the World Cup Finals and Baie-Comeau for the Para-Cycling Road World Championships as strong contenders for medals at these two very important events coming up," said Jacques Landry, Director of High Performance and Head Coach at Cycling Canada.

We offer our best wishes to the cyclists.
