Future of Canadian Cycling On Display in Ancaster at 2013 Ontario Youth Cup Series Final

The CHCH National Cycling Centre Hamilton (NCCH) in association with the City of Hamilton and the Ontario Cycling Association (OCA) are once again bringing Ontario Youth Cup racing back to the community. The eighth and final event on the 2013 racing calendar takes place on September 7th over the rolling hills of Ancaster.

“I would like to invite everyone to celebrate the future of   Canadian Cycling at the 2013 Ontario Youth Cup Championships” says Lloyd Fairbairn, President and Coaching Director at  the NCCH”.

This is the second year that this event has been hosted by the NCCH in Ancaster. It promises to be an exciting day of racing, and an opportunity to watch Ontario's future champions in action.

“With the weeks ticking down, all of us here at the OCA are extremely excited to see the Youth Road Cup Series Championship back in Hamilton” says Greg Rawson, Sport Coordinator for the OCA.

The event will attract between 100 to 200 youth racers enjoying the thrill of road racing. The 16 race card will be split into 8 time trial races and 8 road races in 4 categories. Racing starts at 9:30am to 2:25pm with the podium presentations taking place at 3:45pm at Morgan Firestone Arena. The winners will receive custom Youth Cup Champion jerseys from the OCA. The Youth Cup series was created by the OCA to address a gap in youth cycling for riders between the ages of 9 and 16.
