March 11/14 22:57 pm - Local Support Crew Program at Trek World Racing

Posted by Editoress on 03/11/14

Trek World Racing is once again running its popular Local Support Crew program. The Local Support Crew program was first created in 2001 with one of our earlier teams, as a way for fans to join the team as support crew when the team visited a race near to where they lived.

Each person selected as a Local Support Crew member will get to experience some of the behind scenes operation of our team, and have specific duties within the team, allowing you the opportunity to work with the athletes and staff. The team may also ask you, from time to time, to assist the team with some issues using your local knowledge/language.

The program has been so successful that some members of our LSC crews from the past have gone on to work for other teams professionally, or some continue to come back and work with us year after year. For example, we already have our LSC members from previous years returning to work with us in 2014 in Pietermaritzburg, Leogang, Windham and Hafjell.

The team does not pay for your time, your hotel room or your travel to and from the event. However, you will be able to join the team for meals and other activities, and each member of the Local Support Crew will also receive team clothing as a gift from the team, as well as having the chance to experience something very unique.

The events you should be applying for are:

World Cup 2 - Cairns, Australia (April 23 to 27)
World Cup 5 - Mont-Sainte-Anne, Canada (August 1 to 3)
World Cup 7 - Méribel, France (August 20 to 24)

The following criteria will help you to know if you are eligible to send in an application.

Criteria:

1) The team's operating language is English, so you must have English as one of your spoken languages.

2) You must live close to the race venue above.

3) You must be at least 18 years old. It is also ideal if you have a current and valid driving license.

How to Apply:

All you have to do, if you meet the 3 criteria above, is send us an email with an answer to the following questions below. Email us at info@23degrees-sports.com with the subject "Local Support Crew". Email us as soon as possible, but before April 5th. In the 2 weeks following this deadline the Team Management of Trek World Racing will determine which lucky people will join the program.
