Spring is finally here and preparations for the 2014 edition of the Gran Fondo Mont-Tremblant are well underway. What better way to enjoy the weather and get fit than to get on your bike! The second edition of the Gran Fondo Mont-Tremblant, taking place May 31st, is the ultimate motivation to begin your training and group outings.

The region of Mont-Tremblant offers many road cycling routes for all levels with unparalleled scenery and road quality. Discover the region and challenge yourself!

The Gran Fondo Mont-Tremblant offers a choice of three distinct courses; for the seasoned cyclist is the Gran Fondo, a 125 km loop with interesting climbs and for the motivated cyclist, the Medio Fondo, a winding 80 km ride. New this year is the Mellow Fondo for recreational cyclists, offering a 45 km distance for beginner level cyclists, allowing them to take on this challenge at their own pace. The quality of the courses and safe environment attract hundreds of cycling enthusiasts looking to ride in a friendly atmosphere. See the official course details at: www.granfondotremblant.ca.

Take advantage of the Gran Fondo Mont-Tremblant to plan a weekend of cycling and outdoor activities from May 30th to June 1st. A varied programming offers complementary group rides for avid cycling enthusiasts and the well-known participant meet and greet at the La Diable Microbrewery, the cyclist gathering to kick start the weekend.

"The Gran Fondo Mont-Tremblant formula is friendly and non-competitive," says Robert Brunet, co-producer of the event. "We are working to create a cycling festival spirit by offering a wide range of programming and cycling activities accessible to all."

Several industry exhibitors and kiosks will be on hand beginning on Friday afternoon. For more information on all the weekend programming: www.granfondotremblant.ca/en/programmation.

The participation level of the 2014 edition promises to be significant. Despite endless winter months, more than 500 cyclists have already confirmed their presence. Over 1,000 participants are expected to line up, discovering the town of Mont-Tremblant and several neighbouring municipalities. A perfect opportunity to explore this new cycling destination.

A spring promotion encourages cyclists to register with a group: Register before April 25th with four friends and benefit from reduced registration rates: the Gran Fondo for $125, the Medio for $100 and the Mellow for only $75. Each participant will receive the official jersey of the event upon registration. The Gran Fondo Mont-Tremblant registration is now available at: www.granfondotremblant.ca/en/inscription.
