Olympic Team Selection

Unofficially, the Olympic mountain bike team is Roland Green and Geoff Kabush for the men, and Alison Sydor, Chrissy Redden and Lesley Tomlinson for the women. The women's choices were a given, since only 3 riders had met the criteria. On the men's side it was a little harder. No one had pre-qualified (like Sydor), but 3 riders met the criteria - Green, Kabush and Seamus McGrath. The selection was to be made after the Nationals - top COA qualified athlete (Kabush, by virtue of his 2nd place result), plus committee choice. Roland Green was the obvious choice after his silver at the Mountain Bike Worlds and his podium at the Canmore World Cup (plus two fourths in World Cups earlier in the year).
