Cactus Cup Stage Race - Canmore, Alberta

Our man on the spot, Greg Flaaten, has just provided top-5 results for the Cactus Cup Stage Race time trial. Full results will follow from the organizers. Tomorrow, the riders do the cross-country - which is also a Canada Cup. Greg will be providing a mid-race update and preliminary results after the race. The Elite men and women go off at 1:00 pm local time (3:00 pm EDT). Greg says the weather and trail conditions are excellent, so if you are in the area you might want to drop in at the Canmore Nordic Centre.

Lyne Bessette (Saturn) destroyed the women's field, taking off on her own on the first circuit (of 3) in the 160 kilometre hilly 5th stage. She reached a maximum gap of 6 minutes on the field before finishing about 3 minutes in front of a chase group containing leader Sarah Ulmer (Elita), Annie Gariepy (Elita), Alison Sydor (Timex), Anne Samplonius (Intersports) and Tracey Gaudry (Timex). Bessette now has a comfortable lead in the GC over Ulmer and Gaudry as they go into tomorrow's criterium.

In the men's race, Vasily Davidenko (Navigators) has taken over the lead from Gord Fraser (Mercury) by 10 seconds. However, the crit has 40 seconds in time bonuses available, so Gord has to still be favoured...

More Cereal News

Allan Keefe, of the Brampton Cycling Club, has dropped us a line to clear up the mystery of which cereal brand has Tanya Dubnicoff on the box:

"Just though you would like to know that Tanya, along with a brief promotional interview, were on my box of Apple-Cinnamon Cheerios this morning."

Now the question:

Which brands of cereal should other Olympians appear on? Post your suggestions in the Forums.
