After playing host to the Toronto 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games, the Mattamy National Cycling Centre will be re-opening to the public on September 8th. The facility is preparing for a busy fall session with a variety of new track cycling, fitness and sports programs.

"Now that the Games are completed and we can look back to our role as a host community with pride, it's time to re-open our state-of-the art facility for Milton residents and visitors to enjoy," said Town of Milton Mayor Gord Krantz. "From beginners to advanced cyclists, from fitness enthusiasts to basketball players, there is truly something for everyone at the Mattamy National Cycling Centre."

Cycling programs start at ages 10 years and up, with courses for absolute beginners to specialized sessions for competitive riders, including Structured Motor Pace Training. Additional racing opportunities have been added for both youth and adults and are open to cyclists holding a race competency certification. Race Nights, hosted by the Milton Cycling Academy, are open to the public to watch, offering a great opportunity for residents to come by and see the excitement of the track.

The Mattamy National Cycling Centre is a full-service recreation facility featuring not only an indoor cycling track, but also three full size gymnasiums, fitness centre, studio, an indoor walking/running track and meeting rooms available for rent. For those looking for a good workout off the track, the facility offers sports and fitness programs, including new Virtual Spinfit classes that allow participants to experience a ride as if they were outdoors riding along bike routes from all over the world.

The building is home to several organizations, including Canadian Sport Institute Canada, Triathlon Ontario, Ontario Cycling Association and Milton Cycling Academy. More information on the facility and its programs is available on the Centre's website, www.mattamynationalcyclingcentre.ca or by calling 905-875-5398.
