December 6/15 13:56 pm - Best Ever Track World Cup for Canada?

Team Canada had three medals - gold, silver and bronze - at this weekend's Track World Cup in Cambridge, New Zealand.  The team also had best ever performances for the Men's Team Pursuit squad (9th), Women's Team Sprint (5th) and Men's Team Sprint (9th).

So, we asked Jacques Landry, High Performance Director at Cycling Canada, if this possibly the best ever Canadian Track World Cup result, and he replied:

"We have not done a full audit of our performances over the years at World Cups to determine from a medal standpoint if this was our best World Cup weekend ever, but if you combine the 3 medals acquired with where we performed in all events overall, then this was the most successful campaign, for sure."

"The only real downsides were that we were missing [Sean] McKinnon in the TP [Men's Team Pursuit] due to illness, Remi [Pelletier-Roy] is not 100% coming back from [his broken] collar bone, and Hugo [Barrette] is not yet 100% either..."
