IMBA Canada is happy to share that the Canadian edition of Take a Kid a Kid Mountain Biking Day (#TAKMBD), presented in partnership with MEC, attracted more than 1,800 youth and 1,500 adults at 38 events Canada-wide in 2015. >From coast to coast, Canadian clubs, bike shops, and land management agencies hosted TAKMBD events throughout the season, and as part of the official day on October 3rd.

IMBA's largest one-day annual event, Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day brings together kids big and small to celebrate the joy of riding bikes on trails. This year was the twelfth edition and drew more than 15,000 participants at 206 events across 10 countries: Australia, Austria, Canada, Macedonia, Italy, England, Mexico, the Netherlands, Panama and the U.S.A.

A huge thanks to all of the volunteers, IMBA Canada clubs and affiliated groups, land management agencies, bike shops, community organizations and others who made Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day happen, and to MEC for their sponsorship support. Special thanks also to IMBA Canada's TAKMBD program partners: Parks Canada, Ontario Parks, Vélo Québec, and Sprockids who helped to promote the event within their organizations.

After the success of previous TAKMBD events, IMBA Canada is excited to announce that we will be joining other IMBA organizations around the world in launching our first annual spring edition of TAKMBD next year. The official date is June 11, 2016, but other dates are acceptable depending on seasonal conditions and other events occurring in your region. The fall date will continue to be the first Saturday in October (October 1, 2016).

Today's young mountain bikers are tomorrow's land managers, community leaders, trail builders and trail advocates Join us in getting more kids on bikes in 2016!
