The Drentse Acht van Westerveld is 141 kilometres, beginning and ending in Dwingeloo (Netherlands), and includes all of the top women's teams.  It also marked the return of multi-time world champion Marianne Vos (Rabo Liv) to the peloton after a ten month absence due to injuries and fatigue.  The 13 rider group (including Vos) rode away from peloton at the 66 kilometre mark, as they went over the VAMberg climb.

While the peloton was closing in the final kilometres, the leaders managed to stay away, with Kirchmann outkicking Christine Majerus (Boels-Dolmans) and Anouska Koster (Rabo Liv).

Leah Kirchmann: "It's my first ever victory in Europe, so that makes it extra special for me."
