Posted by Editor on 04/7/16

Velofix has announced the creation of a bicycle delivery and assembly program that will allow the company's Mobile Bike Shops to serve as the last-mile delivery and service mechanism for a range of bicycle brands in the United States and Canada. The Velofix DIRECT Delivery program will begin immediately in all markets where the company currently has Mobile Bike Shops and will expand across North America as Velofix continues to increase its number of franchises.

"E Commerce and the expectations from consumers for a direct model are forcing change in the Bike industry. Today all bicycle manufacturers need to have a dependable and efficient last-mile delivery program in place," said Velofix co-founder Chris Guillemet. "The single biggest challenge to fulfill customers' expectations for a direct sales model in the bike industry is the need for the bikes to be assembled, fit and for a safety check to be performed. With nearly 40 Mobile Bike Shops on the road now and over 75 expected by year's end, Velofix is the solution that is going to make last-mile delivery of bicycles and accessories to consumers a reality."

Aimed at making it possible for bike brands to reach consumers all over North America with a professional service experience and a highly positive margin structure, the Velofix DIRECT bicycle delivery platform is open to all bicycle brands and rewards those that partner closely with the program. Velofix DIRECT can be fully integrated in to the back end systems of bike manufacturers to make the booking process efficient and seamless.

Equipment and accessory manufacturers will also benefit from the Velofix DIRECT program, as consumers will be more likely to purchase additional items such as pedals, bottle cages, spare tubes, pumps, lights, bike computers, power meters, locks and wheel upgrades.

Velofix Mechanics are all certified, fully insured and the Mobile Shop offers the consumer a premium service experience at their home or office including one on one time with the Mechanic, WiFi, Flat screen TV and complimentary coffee.

Velofix is nearing 50 franchises sold in North America and intends to pass 100 total in North America by the end of 2016.  In addition to last-mile delivery and service, the company makes it possible for consumers to buy a wide range of category leading products such as components from SRAM, Shimano, Campagnolo, Fox and Rock Shox as well as parts and accessories from key brands like Continental Tires, Garmin, Stages, FSA, Zipp, and Fizik.

Velofix provides bike services to individuals, events and corporate clients. Velofix is uniquely positioned to service Corporate clients with ongoing fleet maintenance, employee repair, maintenance services, direct buying of products and lunchtime learning sessions that cover bicycle safety and basic maintenance.
