The Forest City Velodrome has always had a strong youth membership. For 11 years the FCV have taken new riders and trained them to go fast.
In 2017, the FCV will take youth races to the next level. The FCV "Young Guns" Youth Series will be a six race winter series with the emphasis on the ability of the riders, not on their age. In the FCV Young Guns series the riders, with the help of their coaches, pick the category, based on speed and endurance of each athlete. Ability based racing allows racers of the same fitness and skill to race together, learn & gain experience.
Youth racing categories will include A, B, C, and D, so that even the youngest riders in their first year can gain valuable experience.
The FCV Young Guns Series will be open to all racers under the age of 19. The FCV wants to attract 50 youth racers for each event.
The FCV Young Guns race calendar:
• Saturday, November 5th (2:30-5:30pm)
• Sunday, November 27th (2:00-5:00pm)
