Road Worlds - Plouay, France

The final event of the Worlds, the 269 km pro men's road race, is underway. With 5 laps to go in the 19 lap race here is the situation - A group went away on the fourth lap, growing to 10 riders who reached a maximum lead of 8 minutes on the peloton, before it went to work to bring them back. With 5 to go the gap is less than 2:30, and there are only 5 riders still up front. The peloton is down to about 55 riders, and the 'real' race looks to be about to start. The pros have been luck - the rain that plagued most other categories has held off so far. There are two Canadians in the race - Michael Barry and Dominique Perras. Both were still in the peloton.
