Ontario Coach Honoured

Cycling Coach Neil Ross was among a group of elite athletes and coaches honoured with Petro-Canada Olympic Torch Scholarships on October 26th at the Sport Alliance Ontario Building. Neil received a Coaching Scholarship to support his two year program of study for Level IV NCCP certification at the National Coaching Institute. Present at the ceremony were the Honourable Helen Johns, Minister of Citizenship, Culture and Recreation, Robert Bettauer, Director of the National Sports Centre of Toronto, Andy Higgins, Director of the National Coaching Institute of Toronto, Deborah Allen, Executive Director of Communications and Media for the Canadian Olympic Association, and several top executives from Petro-Canada.

Neil Ross Bio:
Neil Ross is a coach of the Ontario Cycling Team, and this summer acted as an assistant to National Cycling Coach Yury Kashirin at international cycling competitions in Europe. Neil's goals include creating an infrastructure to support athletes moving from developing to high-performance levels. Neil is taking his Level Four and Five at the National Coaching Institute in Toronto and plans to complete a Doctorate in Applied Exercise Science.
