National Capital Region Bursary

On Saturday night at the annual Bikers Bash held at Camp Fortune, Colin Burn was awarded the 2nd Annual National Capital Region - Espoir Cycling Bursary for the 2001 competitive season. Colin, the current Junior Provincial Road Champion, will be joining the espoir ranks next season. The burasy holds a cash amount of $1000.00 donated by Full Cycle, The Ottawa Bicycle Club and Seenite Sports. The bursary is an open competition, for male, female, road, and mountain bike athletes from the National Capital Region that will be espoir licensed for the year following the presentation. The local cycling community and the sponsors (Full Cycle, Ottawa Bicycle Club, Seenite Sports) hope that this financial contribution assists Colin in achieving his espoir category goals and helps towards a successful and enjoyable 2001 season. Congratulations Colin Burn.

Ontario Trail Access Meeting

A general meeting is being held to discuss issues pertaining to mountain biking in the York Region Forest Tracts (Ravenshoe). Leonard Munt, Regional Forester, requests your attendance on Wednesday, November 22 at 8:00 pm at the York Region Administration Building, 17250 Yonge St., Newmarket. This is north of Eagle, west side of Yonge. The agenda includes issues pertaining to:

Sustainment
Trail Maintenance
Signage
Self-Policing
Risk Management
Education
Communications

It is important that the cycling community is well represented at this meeting! If you enjoy the privilege of riding on the Region's trails (Ravenshoe), it is in your best interest to attend.
