Olympics Lose Sponsor

The IOC (International Olympic Committee) has lost its second big sponsor since the Sydney Games - United Parcel Service (UPS). UPS follows IBM in deciding not to renew worldwide sponsorship for future Olympics.

While the company cited "having met its marketing goals", and that "it is time to move on to other marketing opportunities" as reasons for not renewing, without a doubt the high cost of sponsorship and the poor publicity the IOC has received over the past year played a large part.
