University Cup 2001

courtesy David Wright, chairperson of the Ontario University Mountain Bike Race Council (OUMRC).

Over the past few years we have been working hard to promote the idea of varsity level mountain biking in Ontario. We have made great strides!

Last year we formed the Ontario University Mountain Bike Race Council (OUMRC), a non-profit group of students and alumni who organize the Ontario University Cup mountain bike race series. Our races are sanctioned by the Ontario Cycling Association.

Although its the "Ontario" University Cup we extend an invitation to university students from outside Ontario to come race if they like!

Our philosophy is to enjoy the outdoors, have fun and encourage mountain biking students of *all* skill levels to try a race or two. We especially try to encourage women and new riders to come out.
